MY mind has been running rampant looking for fresh motivation in every direction.. I am so looking forward to tommorow.. a nice clean day of eating... and breathing... I certainly could use that about now... I hate how the horrible moans make me feel.. tired... sore... irritable... things I usually am not... well.. aside from chronic pain I am not sore.. but that part is livable.. its the extra stuff that is wearing... I like getting back in routine too.. and that alone gives me motivation. Do you find your motivation there too? by being in routine...
Here is a rather bizzare discovery I made over the weekend... I took a jar of salsa, added fresh tomatos and cilantro and some really good hot sauce to it... let it chill for a day .. and Sunday I was having major food cravings.. I just wanted to eat... and eat .. I fixed a small bowel of the salsa, added a few chips.. and POOF the minute I ate that the hunger went away.. I almost think it has something to do with the spicy end of it... not sure.. but I tell you it took the hunger away... I also was having a horrible time with chocolate cravings.. I found that if I allowed myself just a little dark chocolate the craving went away... I told Steve about that.. assuming he would think I was nuts.. and he did not.. I think he might have seen me foraging in the pantry.. during the day .. and just not finding anything... last night he bought me a dark chocolate kiss and you would have thought he gave me gold... I ate it.. and that chocolate craving went away.. Sometimes I think it is not in the quantity of food we eat.. that quantity won't answer real hunger for something... sometimes I think you simply have to have a small bit of what you really want .. and then the craving goes away.. ... Just a thought....
We had a great dinner last night... I stir fried a little garlic and olive oil and mushrooms with some shrimp.. and made a tomato salad. a yummy meal indeed.
Not sure whats on the menu for tonight though...
Tomorrow is planned.. oatmeal for breakfast, followed by fresh fruit for morning snack , followed by 2 hard boiled eggs and carrots with a little humus dip for lunch, followed by another piece of fruit (probably some cherries) followed by a late snack of a fiber one bar.. followed by chicken soup and toast for dinner.. and possibly more fruit. ...
Well.. here is to Tomorrow!
Wish me well
Wish you well too.

Hi Honi,
I must admit, I have been looking for fresh motivation too! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post and that in itself was enough motivation for me. So "thank you" for that...
I do think you are right about these odd little food cravings that we get from time to time. As you said, it's often NOT about the quantity, but the sheer fact that at times, you just need a *taster* of a certain food!
I think you are doing soooo well my friend and you continue to be a HUGE source of inspiration :-)
Have a GREAT week my friend...
Lots of hugs,
LL xx
I am working hard to pick quality of quanity. After years of eating the biggest sandwich, salad, nachos or whatever just because of its size and not taste it is hard to change my way of thinking but I keep trying.
Hooray! I love it when you feel like a plan is well-laid and will work for you!
As for the cravings, it's not about quantities...for me at least. But I have to THINK before I put something in my mouth. And it had better be the BEST quality around. I won't eat shitty chocolate, crappy fruit, or that damn Wonder bread stuff. No thank you.
If it's passing my lips, it's gotta be Grade A delicious!
Here's to you getting in a groove! You're doing great, Honi!
Once again you supply some great links. I got my first supermarket guru newsletter this morning via email!
I hope your horrible moans begin to feel better.
I like to plan out my healthy route also, but haven't had time this year with the hubby's shoulder surgery and he and kids under my feet for the last 17 days!!
