IT'S FRIDAY .. we may get SNOW tonight.. freaky weather. but good food..

Please be sure and hop on over to my blog about Israel ANOTHER GREAT ADVENTURE I posted yesterday after the latest terrorist attack there.
At the end of my Healthy Honi blog recently I mentioned Flaxseed.. please be sure and read that loaded with info article... there are no miracle anythings out there.. but there are certain foods which can help us along the way .. check it out..
A great way to start any day is by eating a healthy filling breakfast.. come on now its true.. and yes you can make time to do this...
Here are some tips :
keep 100 cal english muffins in the house
keep some PB2 in the house
hard boil a few eggs and keep them handy in the fridge..You can have a hard boiled egg in the morning on the go for breakfast...
You can take the 100 cal english muffin, mix up your PB2 spread that on the english muffin and you have a breakfast under 200 calories...
Packets of weight control oatmeal are great..
Or
Make real oatmeal on Sunday .. enough to eat off off during the week... pop some in a bowl .. nuke it.. and instant oatmeal breakfast.. think of the topings you can add.. a little regular fiber one cereal, a little mix of fruit and nuts.. an little flaxseed.. chopped fresh fruit..
Bananas and apples are quick on the good choices..
I would pair a 100 calorie yogurt of choice with that as well though..

Here is an article from SparkPeople regarding Breakfast
MORE BREAFAST IDEAS HEALTHY BREAKFAST RECIPES
Lunchs are still my quandary and I am always looking for new things to do aside from frozen meals.. I prefer salads at night time.. I like a warm lunch usually...
Here is a interesting Vegetarian site ..
I have also developed a fondest for the Morningstar Ginger Teriyaki veggie patties.. they are really good and at 110 calories make an easy light lunch or a side with dinner... or even a snack if you are so inclined.
Well I am off to the doctor..
Have a great weekend..
like the title says we might get snow late tonight and tomorrow morning..
Wish me well
wish you well too

I saw that attack on the news and I thought of you. Of course I'll be thinking of you the whole time you're gone but I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time and come back with lots of photos and stories to tell. Make sure you bring a journal to write down your observations and thoughts on the little things so you don't forget anything!

I was watching the Today show this morning and saw the report and immediately thought of you.

Thanks again for all the great links you provide us.

Enjoy that rare snow if you get any.

Interesting reading on the flaxseed. I've been wanting to start incorporating that into my diet for some time now.

Did you get snow while I've been rained on for days?! Argh! I'm so jealous!

Love the ideas for breakfast.

Here's some lunch info:
1. soup - make a big pot. Freeze the servings in containers so they're already measured and DON'T spoil in the fride while waiting to be eaten. I've been known to make two or three different soups, freezing, and then enjoying some variety rather than having to eat the same stupid stuff day in and day out.

2. I have a low-fat quiche recipe that you can stuff with veggies - and it's crustless! Make that, package it in serving size amounts.

3. I adore the Morning Star Farms crumbles when they're in tomato sauce - ya know...like spaghetti sauce. Pair it with some grilled veggies from the night before if you don't want to use pasta.

I'm not highjacking this post anymore than I already have. I'll email you later, sister!

Always a great resource Honi! I was very disturbed by the news from Israel. I hope it settles down. When do you go? Take care and be well. Happy Travels. Looking forward to hearing about it. I am going to look into the flaxseed..bought some over the summer when I did the Abs diet for a week or two. :)

Some of my favorite breakfasts:

a kashi waffle with 1 T peanut butter and a stp of jelly

a piece of 40-calorie wheat toast with panut butter, and a grapfruit. YUM.

yogurt and fruit smoothies

egg beater omelets with veggies and 2% cheese.

yum yum!
